Happy Sunday, folks. Here's hoping for a restorative Labor Day weekend.

Yesterday we took a look at some MLS props coverage. There are no games today, but fear not, for we've now officially stepped into the first week of regulation play in the National Football League.

That's right, kickoff is coming your way this Wednesday. You've probably already got the day earmarked on your calendar, but until play begins, we've got some last-minute updates and, of course, healthy doses of speculation.

Either way, let's get into it, shall we?

Here's the Most Interesting Team to Watch This Year

We'll argue that the Jacksonville Jaguars are entering the 2026 NFL season as the most compelling team to watch. This is a consequence of their young roster and their high expectations.

They ended the year last season with a 13-4 breakout record and have at their disposal Travis Hunter, a rare two-way threat that adds an element of genuine interest to every game he plays in. The team is also anchored by a league-defining defensive identity that is led by Josh Hines-Allen.

Obviously, every season produces many different stories. The Jaguars are a standout with championship potential, but there are many teams worth a look at.

The Chicago Bears, for example, are defending their NFC North crown and have an offensive roster that's worth noting, led by Caleb Williams.

We've also got Aaron Donald coming out of retirement for a season with the Los Angeles Rams. Donald is on the receiving end of a $20 million short-term contract. The team is obviously betting big, making a serious run this season.

What will happen? Stay tuned to find out.

A Melbourne Matchup

The NFL has already expressed an interest in expanding its international presence. The timeline for when teams will pop up in other corners of the globe is uncertain, but there's little doubt that the commissioner will get his way on this score eventually.

For now, an early preview of international football can be seen this week. In fact, the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams are already in Melbourne, Australia, preparing for what will be a historic Week One game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Roster Decisions

The Raiders have chosen Kirk Cousins as the starting quarterback for the 2026 opener. Fernando Mendoza, top draft pick, will serve as his backup.

The Cardinals are also shaking things up in the form of wide receiver Michael Wilson. Wilson has been given a lucrative three-year, $75 million contract extension.

Off-Field Shakeups

Tony Romo is stepping out of the CBS booth following personal difficulties. Romo recently pled no contest to a DUI and has admitted to struggles with prescription drugs and alcohol for managing league-related injuries.

J.J. Watt will work alongside Jim Nantz for Week One coverage.
