Playoff basketball is already delivering some surprises. The Knicks are on the ropes against a Hawks team that is proving playoff basketball’s greatest rule: Anything can happen in the post-season.

We’ve got some more props to cover today. As usual, our model has surfaced some edges you’ll want to read about. First, let’s see how yesterday’s picks faired in the volatile world of playoff basketball.

Last Night’s Featured bets delivered with 2 hits and 1 miss.

We mentioned yesterday that any NBA player can score 5 points under the right conditions. Unfortunately, those conditions never seemed to surface for Dennis Schroder. He scored just 3 points. With just five minutes of playtime, there was never much of an opportunity for him to do more than that.

Max Strus, at least, did what we needed him to do. He found 6 boards in a playoff campaign that continues to impress.

And Miles McBride had a standout night, scoring 15 points in 31 minutes of playtime. It wasn’t enough to help the Knicks to a W, but it at least gave us a winning record for the day.

We’ll take it.

How did your picks do?

Single-prop angles where our model shows higher probability than the odds reflect.

Jerami Grant averages 3.5 rebounds for the season, and 3 over the last ten games. He’s been cold around the boards lately—claiming just one across two games. Regardless, the potential is there. Success will depend on both his playtime, and the way Portland decides to position him on the court.

Shaedon Sharpe is a similar story. He averages 4 rebounds for the season, but 2.5 exactly over his last ten games. He’s very capable of clearing the over but needs minutes to get there. He played just thirteen minutes in his last game, grabbing a single rebound in the process.

And remember what we said about NBA players being universally capable of scoring 6 points? Jake LaRavia is a poster boy for that theory. He averages 8 points for the season and 6.6 for his last ten games.

As a nearly 46% shooter, volume—and not even all that much of it—is what we need to get those six points.

The trouble? He’s historically played only 15 minutes per game against Houston (his overall average is closer to 30).

We just need to hope he’s given a fair chance to hit that over.

Today’s Parlays

Multiple edges combined into one value-driven parlay.

We’ve got a wild six-leg parlay for you today at +5100. Ready to walk on the wild side? It starts with Toumani Camara, who has been averaging almost 20 points over his last ten games. At that pace, +11.5 is a reasonably easy ask.

And 7 or fewer rebounds is a safe line on nearly anyone. Luke Kornet can absolutely push it, but he usually does not. He’s averaged 6 rebounds over the last ten games.

Donovan Clingan at more than 10.5 points feels like a slightly chancier play. He can get there, but he’s been slightly on the quieter side these last ten games, averaging 10 points per game.

It’s not a wild difference, but it adds volatility an already unruly parlay.

We’ll also need to see some serious minutes out of Shaedon Sharpe to make this parlay work. He can score 20 points per game easily, and collect 4 rebounds while he’s at it. Recently though, his stat line has been on the softer side.

He’s played only 16 minutes per game in his last ten and averaged fewer than 10 points in the process. He can clear both the scoring and rebounding lines. He’ll just need to be on the court to do it.

Finally, we’ve got Jerami Grant. He’s been threatening 20 points per game pretty regularly lately. That doesn’t make his line a lock. It does make it very plausible.

A parlay this big is (naturally) always going to be risky. That said, none of the individual components are outlandish.
