The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots met again last night in a highly anticipated season opener that also served as a Super Bowl rematch. Sam Darnold exited the field after just five plays with a concerning hip injury that could have implications for the rest of the season. It did not stop the Seahawks, however, from repeating their earlier triumph.
In other words, the first day of the NFL delivered as much excitement as you could hope. In this newsletter, we'll take a look at a few new props. First, let's see how yesterday's did.
Quick Bets Recap
Last Night’s Props Did Not Deliver a Single Hit

We had Drake Maye at under 21 completions. That was a miss. He came in with 23, despite a shaky overall performance.
We also had an over on Sam Darnold. We needed 20 from the quarterback. He managed just one after exiting the field very early with a hip injury.
As you can imagine, we were also off on the 30 pass attempts over. He made only two in his short time on the field.
Obviously, starting the season off with an 0-3 run is not what we were hoping for, but remember that we're working with non-existent data, and Sam Darnold exiting the field within minutes after a hip injury is a variable no model can account for.
Today’s Featured Bets
These are single-prop angles where our model shows higher probability than the odds reflect.

First up, Matthew Stafford to get over 34 pass attempts. Stafford surpassed this figure in all five of his last games, though, as we mentioned in yesterday's newsletter, this data is coming from a time when we were all still carrying a little extra weight from our end-of-the-year celebrations.
In other words, not terribly fresh information.
We’ve also got a second line on Stafford to get fewer than 24 completions. He did so in three of his last five games from the 2025 season.
Finally, Brock Purdy to get under 35 pass attempts. Purdy played in nine games last season for the 49ers. During that time, he averaged 31.6 pass attempts per game, comfortably under the prop line, but again, who's really to say?
Today’s Parlays

We've also got a pretty simple two-legged parlay that aligns closely with our featured bets.
First, Matthew Stafford at over 34.5 pass attempts. Again, this number is reasonably consistent with recent performances, which is as much of an affirmation as we can hope for at this early stage of the season.
This line also asks that Brock Purdy come in at under 35 pass attempts, which is consistent with his previous season average.
Basically, if you're confident in the featured bets above, this parlay is essentially just asking that both things come together in the same game.
