The Spurs needed a win. They got one.

Game 3 was another photo finish, with the Spurs coming out just ahead in the 115-111 contest. Unsurprisingly, they relied on their star power to close the deal.

Wembanyama had a 32 point night. De’Aaron Fox contributed a little bit of everything—12 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists.

San Antonio could still really use another win this Wednesday to regain their footing. Still, it was a promising night for Spurs fans.

We’ll cover that tomorrow. Today, we’ll take a look at what, if anything has changed in this series now that the Spurs have found their way to the win column. First, let’s see how yesterday’s picks went.

Last Night’s Featured bets delivered with 3 hits.

We needed at least 2 rebounds out of Jose Alvarado. He delivered 3.

We also hit with Keldon Johnson. He shot 60% from the field on his was to a 7 point evening that helped him just cross the over.

And thanks to Josh Hart, we have a perfect record. His 16 points may not have helped the Knicks to victory, but we were happy to have them. Hart shot 60% from the field in thirty five minutes of play on his way to shattering our over.

How Important is the Spurs Victory?

It may have been just one game, but the Spurs needed it badly. What’s next?

Last night was not technically an elimination game. It still had the feel of one. Two down in as many games, and facing a road match up at Madison Square Garden, the stakes were high, and the margin for error was nonexistent.

For San Antonio fans, its great that they won. There’s still a lot of work to do.

The Knicks hot start might have given some fans a slightly flawed perception of this series. New York is having an amazing post-season. One of the best ever recorded, as a matter of fact. But this matchup never had the feel of a one sided blowout. This is gritty basketball.

So far, every game has been very close. New York needed a last minute (almost literally) 11 point run to close things out in Game 1. Game 2 was decided by a last second (again, almost literally) free throw.

Game 3 ended with the Spurs just 4 points ahead.

In terms of how this outcome impacts the trajectory of the series—well, It will be easier to say after tomorrow. Though the Wednesday night matchup isn’t winner takes all, it will decide the momentum of the series.

If the Knicks win, they will be safely back in the driver’s seat. If it’s the Spurs, all is even and the potential for this series going all the way to Game 7 will feel pretty high. On our end, we’re just hoping for as much good basketball as we can get.
