Happy Tuesday, folks. As the week inches along, so too do we inch ever closer to the start of the NFL season.

The first week of preseason play produced notable stories that will continue to develop right up until kickoff for the first week of regulation play.

Amongst the mounting anticipation, however, are genuinely impactful storylines developing right now.

In today's newsletter, we'll take a look at some ever-growing injury reports and clue you in on every major development happening in the league right now.

Injury Reports

Preseason injuries persist.

The New York Jets star running back has strained his groin during practice following an inopportune fall. Imaging is already underway, and head coach Aaron Glenn is under the belief that the injury will not be long-term.

Jordan Tyson, meanwhile, for the New Orleans Saints, is likely to miss the first two months of play due to a hamstring injury, while Kyle Monangai of the Chicago Bears is sidelined for a knee injury.

Preseason play and practice is just as dangerous as regulation football, folks. Still, it is somehow even more disappointing to watch a favorite player sidelined before the season even begins.

New Signings

Teams are making moves.

Keenan Allen has agreed to an $8.3 million deal for one year with the Indianapolis Colts. The vet has been brought in to bolster the receiving line as Alec Pierce is still out recovering from ankle surgery.

Z'Darius Smith, meanwhile, is on his way to Atlanta. The Falcons have signed the three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher to play a core component of their defensive strategy this year.

We've also got news down in Dallas in the form of Von Miller. The assumed future Hall of Fame rusher has agreed to a one-year deal. This agreement brings him back to his hometown of Dallas.

It's a good time for the Cowboys to enlist his help. Star linebacker Micah Parsons is still recovering from an injury that will likely see him on the sideline for the first third of the season.

Is the NFL moving overseas?

For most of the world, football has a different meaning, but according to Roger Goodell at least, the league is looking to export its brand of play to a more global audience.

Roger Goodell made headlines for claiming that international NFL expansion is inevitable. These comments were made during an interview with Marcus Kuhn, a former NFL player turned commentator. The comments were expressed with no uncertainty.

Goodell's exact quote: "At some point there will be NFL teams outside the USA. I have no doubt this will happen one day."

With little room for speculation as to what he intends when it takes place, is a different question. Goodell also referenced a long-debated topic. Should the Super Bowl be held overseas? For years, fans have wondered if it would be better to have the world's biggest sporting event at a more neutral stage. Goodell expressed an openness to this thought, but mentioned that international team expansion would be the first priority.

For now, the league is firmly rooted on American soil.
