Happy Wednesday! Things are ramping up in the NFL just as quickly as they are at your children’s school. There have already been some preseason injuries that could have legitimate implications for the rest of the season.
We’ll look at that, plus more, down below.
News From Training Camp
Training camp has produced almost daily injury reports across the league.
Laremey Tunsil is sidelined indefinitely following a torn triceps injury suffered during practice. The Commanders’ LT is awaiting surgery.
The Rams, meanwhile, are out one wide receiver. Puka Nacua exited practice yesterday with an apparent groin injury.
We’ve also got bad news for fans of both the Ravens and the Lions. Baltimore is down a rookie cornerback in the form of Nate Wiggins, who had to be carried off the field following a practice related left leg injury.
Cade Mays of the Detroit Lions, meanwhile, is out for the next two months with a fractured wrist.
Have You Heard The Good News…About The Chargers?
The Chargers could easily be the most underrated team in the league.
Football fans tend to give the Chargers a little less credit than they deserve. Maybe it comes with the conference. In the AFC, the Chiefs and the Broncos have a lot of gravity.
Fair enough. But coming off an 11-6 record last season, the Chargers enter the 2026 with the proven components of a winning team.
This year, the Chargers have the potential to build on that with a revamped offense. The team hired Mike McDaniel away from Miami to come serve as their new offensive coordinator.
McDaniel is a known quantity, well-regarded for his inventive run-schemes and zone blocking principles.
This, coupled with the teams still developing young talent gives the Chargers plenty of reason to feel hopeful. They might not have played well enough last year to meet Bad Bunny last season, but who knows where they will be come February? Say this much—it will be fun to find out.
