Good morning, folks, and happy Monday. Today we're going to cover some NFL news. When we first directed our attention to the league, it was still early in the preseason. Now, rosters are tightening, strategies are clarifying, and the big show is nearly upon us.

With regulation play beginning in a matter of weeks, every news update that comes going forward will have a clear, meaningful impact on the season that's to follow.

Let's get into it, shall we?

Major Training Camp Injuries

One of the most consistent storylines throughout this preseason has been training camp injuries.

These news reports continue to roll in even with regular season play now fast upon us. Ashton Jeanty of the Raiders, a star second-year running back, is one of the latest players to add his name to the list. Jeanty suffered a right leg injury during practice.

While reports are a little murky, early knee news indicates a sprained ankle, which should not have major season-long implications.

Tyler Biadasz of the Chargers is less lucky. The veteran center experienced a season-ending leg injury after tearing his ACL during a joint practice session.

Not all of the injury news updates are bad, however. Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers has officially returned to practice after missing two weeks with calf discomfort.

Major Trades

The Saints and 49ers orchestrated a major swap. San Francisco traded running back Zamir White to New Orleans for Deion Jones.

The move may be particularly beneficial to the Saints, who are looking for backfield depth while Alvin Kamara nurses an MCL sprain.

We've also got retirement news in the form of Nick Chubb, the four-time Pro Bowl running back, who is packing it in after eight seasons with Cleveland.

A Kick Heard Around The World

If a kicker lands a field goal from almost 70 yards, but the NFL season hasn't officially started, does the achievement make a sound?

That is the question on Harrison Butker's mind. The controversial kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs drilled a 69-yard field goal against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Because it was just a preseason game, the accomplishment won't break any official records. Still, it is remarkable.
